ERIC JOHNSTON
Eric has been involved in planning and engineering work for more than 15 years. His strategic approach to project management and solution implementation has been applied to numerous projects, coordinating with private developers and city, county, and state agencies. This experience now guides the transportation planning group at Shea Carr Jewell as they tackle some of the region’s most challenging issues and plan exciting new projects across the United States.
His knowledge and experience with traffic operations analyses are key to developing technically sound solutions to complex transportation issues. From identifying key issues early in the process, to developing innovative solutions to impact mitigation, Eric’s approach to transportation planning ensures a project can negotiate engineering design requirements, regulatory restrictions, and economic realities. Improvements to the transportation network are designed to integrate into the larger transportation network such that each project builds upon the last, rather than being an isolated improvement.
Effective public outreach and stakeholder facilitation are a key component of many of Eric’s projects. He is skilled in project strategy development, community involvement, and multi-jurisdictional coordination. Eric plans and facilitates public meetings, workshops, and forums and is adept at developing compelling communication materials and exhibits for these meetings.
